BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland graduate student
Chase Vosvick was announced this afternoon as the Patriot League's Goalkeeper of the Week following a shutdown performance at No. 5 West Virginia last Monday.
Vosvick, a three-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, receives his 12th career weekly award from the conference. He matched a career-high with seven saves at WVU last week, playing all but the final 1:05 in goal to help the Greyhounds earn their second draw against a top-five opponent in the past three seasons.
Several of the stops were highlight-reel efforts, including a point blank save off a rebound in front in the 17th minute and a diving save off a free kick with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation. Vosvick's seven saves were his most since he also had seven in his third collegiate appearance back on Sept. 1, 2017.
Loyola previously earned a 1-1 tie at then-No. 2 Wake Forest on Oct. 22, 2019. The Greyhounds and Mountaineers were even at six shots apiece over the final 65 minutes of game action last Monday. For the year, Vosvick is 1-1-1 with a 0.31 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
The Greyhounds have two more road games this week, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup at Penn later tonight.
