Baltimore, MD -- The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team hosted the Colgate Raiders on Saturday afternoon. After scoring a first half goal, the Greyhounds could not find the back of the net again as they battled to a 1-1 tie against Colgate.
Both teams found themselves in a tight battle in the first half, as the Greyhounds had a slight possession advantage 51-49. The Greyhounds would take an early lead, as

Kelan Swales, who then played a perfect through ball to
Matthew Lala, as Lala managed to bury it over the goalkeeper to take a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute. From there, both teams had a couple of chances, but neither could convert as the Greyhounds led 1-0 at half.
Both teams had their fair share of chances in the half, as shots were tied at 6-6 in the second half. The Raiders, however, were the only team who were able to convert, as they tied the game in the 67th minute off of a cross into the box, to make it 1-1. From there, the Greyhounds had a few great chances, including a shot from inside the box by
Richie Nichols, but the Colgate goalkeeper made a diving stop. From there, both defenses were stout, as the battled to a 1-1 tie.
Alex Bobocea made 3 saves in goal for the Greyhounds on the afternoon. The Greyhounds will be back in action next weekend as they will travel to face Holy Cross on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
