Men's Soccer Wins on the Road, Thanks to Goals from Lala and Gray

Worcester, MA -- The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team traveled to face Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. Two first half goals proved to be enough for the Greyhounds, as they went on to win 2-1.

It did not take long for the Greyhounds to pull ahead in the first half, as Matthew Lala scored his third goal in the last four games in the 16th minute to take a 1-0 lead. 10 minutes later, Thomas Gray scored his first goal as Greyhound in the 26th minute as they took an early 2-0 lead. In the rest of the half, both teams had their fair share of chances, but the Greyhounds held on to take a 2-0 lead at half.

In the second half, the Crusaders were slightly more aggressive on the offensive end, as they out-shot the Greyhounds 6-4. The Crusaders managed to get on the board early in the second half, as Crusaders Bergin Kranz scored in the 56th minute. From there, both teams had some chances, but could not capitalize, as the Greyhounds defense held on to win 2-1.

Kelan Swales assisted on both goals in the game, as Albert Kang also added an assist on Lala's goal. Alex Bobocea added 3 saves on the day.

The Greyhounds will be back in action on Monday as they travel to face #7 Syracuse.
