Syracuse, NY -- The Loyola Greyhounds traveled to face the No. 7 Syracuse Orange on Monday night. After Syracuse scored two goals in the first five minutes, the Greyhounds could not recover, as they lost 6-1.
The Orange got the scoring started early in the first half, as they scored the first goal off of a rebound in the box. The Orange would answer again quickly, as they scored off of a cross into the box to quickly make it 2-0. The Syracuse attack gave the Greyhounds issues, as they were out-shot 12-5 in the first half. The Syracuse attack would add another goal in the first half, this one, also off of a cross into the box, as the Orange took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Greyhounds were able to cut into their lead, as
Kelan Swales scored on a penalty kick to cut the deficit down to 3-1. Despite a little bit of momentum, the Greyhounds could not contain the Orange, as they added another three goals in the second half, as they took a 6-1 lead. Despite a few late chances on goal, the Greyhounds could not add to the scoreboard, as they would lose 6-1 to the No. 7 Syracuse Orange.
The Greyhounds will be back in action this weekend, as they will host Boston University for senior day on Saturday.
