BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland volleyball hit .292 and held visiting Lafayette College to .139 as the Greyhounds swept the Leopards, 25-20, 25-20, 27-25 in Patriot League action.
 
The victory completed a weekend sweep for the Greyhounds who beat Bucknell University in four on Friday night.
 
Lauren Link had 17 kills, while Cecylia Guye and Riley Hamilton each had nine and Adara Kellogg eight. Ashley Dwyer led the Greyhounds' offense with 41 assists, and she finished with a double-double, posting 12 digs.
 
Katie Forsythe had a game-best 20 digs as Loyola picked up 57 in the three sets to the Leopards' 42.
 
Down two sets to zero, Lafayette took an 8-6 lead in the first et , but Loyola would rally to go up by three on a pair of occasions. A Hamilton-Guye block gave Loyola a 17-14 advantage and forced a Leopards timeout, after which they came back to score six of the next eight points to flip the lead to 19-18.
 
Loyola tied the score at 19-19 and 20-20 on back-to-back kills by Guye, but Lafayette would get to set-point at 24-21.
 
The Greyhounds fended off three-straight set points on kills by Link and Megan Bukala and a Leopards hitting error, tying the match off Bukala's swing to make it 24-24.
 
Hamilton and Kellogg then locked up a block on the right side to give the Greyhounds match-point and a 25-24 lead.
 
Lafayette's Hannah Ehrich-Pollock sided out, however, to tie the set at 25-25, but Hamilton responded with a right-side kill, and the match ended in the Greyhounds' favor went a Leopards attack attempt went out.
 
Hamilton had six of her nine kills in the third set, along with two of her three total block assists.
 
Loyola goes back on the road next weekend with a Friday, October 7, match at Lehigh and one the following afternoon at Army West Point.
