BETHLEHEM, Pa. —
Mike Crowley's strong finish yesterday at the Georgetown Intercollegiate helped him claim his first collegiate Top-5 finish, and today he was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the Week.
Crowley, who qualified for and played in this past summer's U.S. Amateur, played his final 12 holes at 5-under par at on the 7,387-yard Liberty National Golf Club to move into a tie for fifth at the 12-team tournament.
The Loyola junior started his round with a bogey on the par-five 10th hole, but that was the only box he wrote on his scorecard for the round. He put together five-straight pars before driving the green on the 16th hole to eagle the 325-yard par-4 after hitting his drive to four feet.
He then rolled in par putts on the next four holes before birding the 395-yard par-3 third hole to get to 2-under for his round.
After three more birdies, he birdied the 484-yard par-4 seventh and the 611-yard par-5 eighth holes. Crowley finished with a par on the ninth hole to card a 4-under 68, his lowest round of the 2022-2023 season and matching his lowest collegiate round.
His 68 also matched the low-round of both Tuesday's third round and overall in the tournament.
The award is the second of Crowley's career after he also received the honor last March.
