Women's Soccer Could Not Overcome Two Second Half Goals as they Dropped Road Match 4-2

Bethlehem, PA -- The Loyola Greyhounds women's soccer team traveled to face the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds would score two first half goals to tie it up at halftime, but the Mountain Hawks would score two more in the second half, as the Greyhounds loss 4-2.

The Mountain Hawks got the scoring started in the 24th minute, as they scored after a corner kick hit the cross bar, and found a Mountain Hawk who burried it. They then added another in the 29th minute as Lehigh scored on a shot from outside the box, that went just passed Sims fingertips. The Greyhounds would soon answer, as Baylee DeSmit would go on a great run, and capped it off by finding Ada Clare Tempert to cut it to a 2-1 deficit.

Just 4 minutes later, the Greyhounds answered once again, as Elizabeth Gallagher scored her first of the season, off of a corner kick delivered by DeSmit, to make it 2-2 going into halftime.

The Mountain Hawks scored quickly out of half, as they took the lead again in the 48th minute, as they floated a ball over Sim's head. The Greyhounds had their fair share of chances in the second half, as they out-shot the Mountain Hawks 6-4. Despite this, they could not find the back of the net, as Lehigh added another late goal, to ice the game as they Greyhounds lost 4-2.

The Greyhounds will wind down the regular season as they host Boston next Saturday, and will host American for the home final on Wednesday October 26th.
