Annapolis, MD -- The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team traveled to face the Navy Midshipmen. After a back and fourth in the first 80 minutes, both teams scored in the final 10 minutes, including a
Kelan Swales goal with 6 seconds left as teams tied 1-1.
The Greyhounds had their fair share of chances throughout the game this afternoon, as they tallied 19 shots on the day, with 7 of them being shots on goal. Navy also had some chances on goal with them tallying 11 shots, with 6 of them being on target.
Things got exciting late however, as Navy scored in the 82nd minute on a pass across the box to take a late 1-0 lead. From there, the Greyhounds did not have many good looks on goal, but with 15 seconds left, the Greyhounds managed to launch the ball down the field towards the Navy goal.
Kelan Swales, somehow, managed to get past the Navy defense and catch up to the ball before the Navy goalie, and was able to flick the ball over the goalie and into the net to tie the game with 6 seconds left, to earn a crucial draw.
Alex Bobocea had 4 saves on the day, as
Kelan Swales added his 5th goal of the year and
Matthew Lala added an assist.
