Baltimore, MD --
Lex Therien knotched her fifth double-double of the season as she tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds, but Toledo used a strong second half to beat the Greyhounds 62-40 on Field Trip Day in Reitz Arena.
Therien shot 6-14 from the floor on the game, as she was the lone Greyhound in double figures.
Bri Rozzi had eight points in the game, while adding three rebounds and two assists. Koi Sims added nine rebounds, while Cristina Garcia got her first career start, as the freshman had three points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Toledo (5-2) found themselves in a defensive battle in the first half, as a late basket in the first quarter gave them a 14-11 lead. Neither team had much success from the floor in the second quarter, as
Lex Therien scored the only two field goals the Greyhounds made in the quarter, while Rozzi added a free throw. Despite the offense struggling in the quarter, the Rockets only led 23-16 at half.
The Rockets found their stride in the second half, as they used a 14-3 run to start the second half to build a 16-point lead with 3:53 left in the third quarter. The Greyhounds were not able to overcome the deficit, as the Rockets led by as many as 22 points in the fourth quarter.
The Greyhounds continue non-conference play with a road trip to face Mount St. Mary's on Saturday December 3 at 1:00 PM.
