BALTIMORE – Preseason honors continued to roll in for two Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse players as graduate students
Kevin Lindley and
Ryan McNulty were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
The pair will be on the field Saturday as the Greyhounds open the 2022 season with a 12 noon game at the University of Maryland that will air live, nationally, on the Big Ten Network.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation. The Watch List includes top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2022 award.
McNulty continued to be one of the best long-stick midfielders and transition players in the game after finishing the 2021 campaign with 46 ground balls and 19 turnovers. On the offensive end of the field, he posted 10 points with four goals and six assists while helping Loyola lead NCAA Division I in clearing percentage. Coming into 2022, McNulty ranks seventh in school history in caused turnovers (71) and tied for 13
th in ground balls (191).
Lindley is a two-time USILA All-American who set the Loyola all-time scoring record last season and sits at 158 goals for his career going into the year. Last season, Lindley earned his second All-America honorable mention and All-Patriot League First Team nods after leading Loyola and the conference with 42 goals scored.
