GOODYEAR, Ariz. –
Nick Mejia shot an even-par 72 on Monday, the Loyola University Maryland golf team's best round as the Greyhounds completed the second of three days at Palm Valley Golf Club and the Loyola Intercollegaite.
Mejia birdied his last two holes – the 13
th and 14
th – to get back to level after three bogeys on the course's front nine put him over-par for the day. He is tied for 57
th overall at the event while the Greyhounds are tied for 13
th as a team.
Carlo Pizzano was at 2-over 74 on Monday with three birdies and a pair of bogeys amongst his final five holes and it tied for 79
th at 7-over for the tournament.
Brett Inserra remained the Greyhounds' top overall scorer at the tournament, shooting 3-over 75 on Monday to rank tied for 34
th at 1-over through 36 holes.
Brandon Berry is tied for 50
th through two rounds with a round of 3-over 75 on Monday. He is 3-over for the tournament, as well.
Jackson Roman shot 3-over 75, as well, on Monday, bouncing back after a 9-over round Sunday to tie for 99
th.
Loyola's two individuals,
Matt Malits and
Mike Crowley, are tied for 93
rd and 95
th, respectively after rounds of 9- and 7-over on Monday.
Play at the 54-hole, 18-team tournament will wrap up on Tuesday with a shotgun start commencing at 7:45 a.m. (MST).
