Livy Rosenzweig was named the Patriot League Attacker of the Week and junior
Riley Olmstead was honored as the Patriot League Defender of the Week after helping the No. 7 Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week.
Â
For the week, the Greyhounds outscored their opponents 41-4, earning a 21-2 midweek win over Bucknell and a 20-2 victory at Lafayette on Saturday.
Â
Rosenzweig had a hand in 14 goals this week to become the sixth player in NCAA history to reach 400 career points. Against Bucknell, the Katonah, New York native scored twice to notch her 50th goal of the season and she added six assists for a game-high eight points. She also won a game-high nine draw controls in the contest. At Lafayette, Rosenzweig again led all players in points, finishing with six, as she scored twice, had four assists and won four draw controls. With 407 career points, she now ranks fifth all-time in NCAA history. Â
Â
This marks the ninth career attacker of the week award for Rosenzweig and her fourth of the season.
Â
Olmstead, a defender from Painted Post, New York, was stingy on defense this week, as she not only helped the Greyhounds' defense post four shutout quarters, but she only allowed her personal matchups two total shots and no goals. Against Bucknell, she held Taylor McClain without a shot, snapping her five-game scoring streak, while she held Lafayette's Sarah Bennett without a point. She also helped limit the Bison to nine total shots in the game – a season low for them – and she helped hold the Leopards scoreless for 49:57 of play.
Â
This is the first career weekly award for Olmstead.
Â
Loyola will host Navy in its regular-season finale Thursday night at 7 p.m.
