HELLERTOWN, Pa. –
Carlo Pizzano and
Brandon Berry are tied for third, and
Mike Crowley is also in the top-10, after the first day of the Patriot League Championships. With the trio all amongst the leaders, Loyola University Maryland is tied for first through the first 18 holes.
Pizzano moved up with a birdie on the par-4 17
th hole, and Berry did the same on the 18
th to finish the day at even-par 72 at The Steel Club.
Crowley started the round with a birdie on the third hole with pars on the front nine's other eight holes before going bogey-bogey to start the back. He then had a birdie to get level on the par-5 15
th hole before a bogey on the 18
th had him at 1-over 73 for the round.
Berry carded birdies on the day's first three holes, but he was at 1-over through 15, but his birdie on the 18
th moved him into the tie for third.
The Greyhounds are at 6-under 294 through 18 holes, tied with Lafayette College for first. Lehigh University and College ot the Holy Cross are three shots back and tied for third, while Colgate University is 11-over and the U.S. Military Academy is 13-over.
Brett Inserra,
Jackson Roman and Matthew Malits are all tied for 25
th for the Greyhounds after shooting 5-over 77.
Loyola will tee off in the second round starting at 9:48 a.m. on Saturday.
