BALTIMORE – The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's swimming and diving teams received Scholar All-America Team recognition this week from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their efforts in the classroom.
The Greyhounds' women's and men's teams finished the Spring 2022 semester with cumulative grade-point averages of 3.598 and 3.461, respectively, while turning in term marks of 3.640 and 3.499.
Five Loyola swimmers –
Jimmy Hayburn,
Lily Mead,
Jack Still,
Max Verheyen and
Elizabeth Walsh – were named to the Academic All-Patriot League teams at the end of their seasons. Hayburn was also named to the Academic All-District Team selected by CoSIDA.
Two Greyhounds, Hayburn and
Maggie Manchester, had the highest male and female grade-point averages for graduating seniors in 2022.
Twenty-one members of the teams – 11 on the men's side and 10 for the women – posted 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester.
