Women's Soccer Drops Road Match To No. 4 Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. -- The Loyola Greyhounds traveled to face the No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday evening. The Cavaliers managed to get out to a early lead and went on to win 6-0.

The Cavaliers started the scoring early as Sarah Brunner scored in the 6th minute of the game. The Cavaliers stayed hot in the first half as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 37th minute of the first half. The Cavaliers controlled the majority of the first half, as the Greyhounds managed to just get one shot off in the half from Delaney DeMartino

Virginia added to its lead in the second half with Brunner's second goal of the day, and it also got a goal from Emma Dawson in the 73rd minute to make it a 6-0 lead.

Paige Sim did her best to keep the Greyhounds in the game as she tallied 6 saves on the night, but it proved to not be enough. Zoe Willis once again was the sole Greyhound to play all 90 minutes on the night.

The Greyhounds will travel to face Rice on August 25 at 7:30 PM EST, before returning to Ridley to host Youngstown State on August 28.
