BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse welcomed its 13 newcomers to the program on Wednesday as first-year students moved onto the Evergreen campus for the 2022-23 academic year.
Twelve freshmen and a transfer will join the program when the fall semester officially starts next week:

Before Loyola: Graduated from McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland where he helped the Eagles win the 2022 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) A Conference title… Team captain as a senior… Registered 28 points as a senior that season… Was named All-State as a junior in 2021 when he scored 29 goals and had five assists… Was a four-year varsity team member… Three-time Under Armour Underclass All-American… Nike All-American… Played club for Crabs Lacrosse.

Before Loyola: Graduated from Mars Area High School where he was a seven-time letterman, earning four in lacrosse and three in basketball… Named the 2022
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Year after helping Mars Area win the 2022 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association title… Scored 287 points during his high school career with 184 goals and 103 assists in three season (sophomore year cancelled due to pandemic)… Had 79 goals and 32 assists as a senior in 2022 after going for 72 and 46 in 2021 during his junior campaign… Helped Mars Area to the PIAA title game and a runner-up finish that year… Earned USLacrosse All-America honors in 2021 and 2022 and was an All-WPIAL and All-Section honoree those years, as well… Named his team's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2021, respectively… Was an Under Armour All-American in 2019 and a Nike National All-Star in 2020… Played club for True National Black and True Pittsburgh… Was an All-Star at the Baltimore Summer Kickoff and FLG in 3D… Helped his school's basketball team to its section title in 2022 and was All-Section honorable mention that year.

2021 (Freshman at Army West Point): Played in two games for the Black Knights, making his collegiate debut against Holy Cross and tallying an assist against the Crusaders… Also played in a win over Boston University.
Before College: Graduated from Boys' Latin School of Maryland where he was a five-time varsity letterwinner, earning three in lacrosse and two in cross country… Was a One Love club leader in 2020… Played club for Crabs Lacrosse.
Personal: Son of Tiffany and Brad Erickson… Has an older brother, Max… Member of the National Honor Society and was a Williams Scholar at Boys' Latin.
Matt Everson • Defense • Lino Lakes, Minn. • Centennial High School
Before Loyola: Graduated from Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Minnesota, where he played four years of lacrosse and three of hockey… Finished with 81 ground balls, 77 caused turnovers, four goals and two assists as a senior… Earned All-America, First-Team All-Minnesota and First-Team All-Area honors… Helped Centennial finish fourth in the state… Was captain of the school's hockey team… Played club for the Minnesota Loons and was a Project Midwest participant.
Personal: Son of Jennifer and Scott Everson… Has two older siblings, David and Katelyn… Has coached U-14 lacrosse for two seasons.
Chase Gregory • Long-Stick Midfield • Newcastle, Maine • Brewster Academy
Before Loyola: Graduated from Brewster Academy where he was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team and also competed in varsity cross country (two years), soccer (one) and basketball (one)… Named a USLacrosse All-American as a senior in 2022 and received the Career Team Award… Helped lead Brewester to the Two Lakes Region Championship… Played club for 4Leaf Lacrosse.
Personal: Son of Derilyn and Shawn Gregory… Has three siblings, Dakota, Madox and Marley… Earned Magna Cum Laude honors all four years at Brewster.
Henry Haberman • Attack • Port Washington, N.Y. • Paul D. Schreiber High School
Before Loyola: Graduated from Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, New York where he played five years of varsity lacrosse and three of varsity football… Started playing on the varsity lacrosse team as an eighth grader… Finished his high school career with 130 goals and 49 assists across four seasons (sophomore year was canceled due to pandemic)… Had 54 goals and 24 assists as a senior in 2022 and was named the school's Male Athlete of the Year… Totaled 40 goals and 14 assists in 2021… Two-time All-American in lacrosse… Eraned All-State lacrosse honors as a senior and was All-Nassau County as a junior and senior… Named the Nassau County Attackman of the Year in 2022… Was the lacrosse team's Most Valuable Player in 2022… Decorated football player, as well, earning All-Nassau County honors as a junior and senior and was All-State honorable mention as a senior… Two-time football team Most Valuable Player… Played for Team Igloo Artic Blast in club play… Was the Dick's Sport Goods Championship Game Most Valuable Player.

Dylan LeBlanc • Defense • Brielle, N.J. • Manasquan High School
Before Loyola: Graduated from Manasquan High School where he was a four-year varsity player in lacrosse and three-year varsity football player… Was injured and did not play as a senior… Had 57 ground balls and 41 caused turnovers as a junior in 2021… Earned All-Shore Conference honors in 2021 and was First-Team All-Group I… Helped Manasquan win the 2019 South Jersey Group I title and the Shore Conference title… The team also won the 2021 South Jersey Group I championship… Was an All-Division linebacker for the Manasquan football team in 2019… Played club for Leading Edge.

Before Loyola: Graduated from Collegiate High School in Richmond, Virginia, where he was a five-year varsity lacrosse player and three-year varsity football player… Earned All-Prep League and Second-Team All-State as a senior in 2022 on the lacrosse field… Was the recipient of the Selfless Savage Award in 2022… Co-Most Valuable Player of the team in 2021… Three-time team lacrosse captain in lacrosse… Played club for the Richmond Hawks and the Maryland Rough Riders.
Personal: Son of Jane and Geoff Marlatt… Has four older siblings, Jim, Katie, Emily and Colleen… Older brother, Jim, was a midfielder for the Notre Dame lacrosse team that played against Loyola in the 2012 NCAA Semifinals… Sister, Katie, played lacrosse at Oregon, and other sister, Emily, played field hockey and lacrosse at Denison.

Before Loyola: Graduated from St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia where he was a four-year varsity lacrosse player and two-year varsity soccer player… Earned All-Met honors from
The Washington Post and was an All-State player as a senior on the lacrosse field where he scored 76 goals and had 69 assists… Set the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes record for points in a senior with 145 in 2021… Also earned All-State honors as a junior in 2021 when he scored 33 and had 26 assists… Two-time All-IAC Conference honoree… Team won the Virginia state title in 2019 and 2022… Played club lacrosse for Madlax… Was a member of the team that won the Under Armour championship in 2019 and 2021 and the Nike champioonship in 2021… Named Most Valuable Player of the 2019 Under Armour Underclass Games… Nike National Senior Game Selection.

Matthew Minicus • Attack • Darien, Conn. • Darien
Before Loyola: Graduated from Darien (Connecticut) High School where he played lacrosse and football… Had 108 points in each of his final two seasons for the Blue Wave… Earned All-America, All-State and All-Fairfield County honors in 2021 and 2022… Led Darien to the Fairfield County title twice in lacrosse… Played club for Eclipse… Invited to, and played in, the Under Armour and Nike All-America games… Club team won the Natlaxfed Championship… All-State wide receiver for the Darien football team, helping the Blue Wave win the Connecticut state title… Team Most Valuable Player for both the football and lacrosse teams.
Personal: Son of Maureen and Kevin Minicus… Has three older brothers, Colin, Brian and Michael… Colin played at Amherst where he the second-leading scorer on the Mammoth's NCAA Division III runner-up team… He was then drafted by the Major League Lacrosse's Philadelphia Barrage… Brian earned All-Patriot League First Team honors on attack in 2022 for Colgate and will play in 2023 as a graduate student at Georgetown… Michael is a member of Colgate's Class of 2024… Father played lacrosse at Amherst and mother was a field hockey and lacrosse player at Williams.

Before Loyola: Graduated from Medfield (Massachusetts) High School where he was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team and a three-year varsity golfer… Scored 212 points with 168 goals and 44 assists in three years of high school lacrosse (sophomore season was canceled due to the pandemic)… Had 92 goals and 17 assists as a senior in 2022… His goals scored mark is a school record at Medfield, while he is tied for second in single-season points… Posted 72 points as a junior in 2021 and 31 during his freshman season of 2019… Named the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior… Earned Tri-Valley League Most Valuable Player honors in 2022 and was an All-League honoree in 2021 and 2022… Tabbed to the

Max Watkinson • Goalkeeper • Baltimore, Md. • St. Paul's School
Before Loyola: Graduated from St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Maryland, where he played three years of varsity lacrosse and three of varsity basketball… Finished his career with 415 career saves after posting 228 as a senior in 2022… Had a .640 career saves percentage… Finished sixth in career saves and his 228 as a senior rank second in single-season history… Set the school single-game saves record in 2021… Played club for Team 91 Maryland and won a national championship after his freshman year.
Personal: Son of Jennifer and Eric Watkinson… Has an older sister, Sophia… Was a member of the honor roll and headmaster's list at St. Paul's… Father played basketball and golf at Western Maryland (now McDaniel College)… Mom attended Loyola and is an associate professor at the school while serving as the director of the university's school counseling program.
Brady West • Midfield • Rockville Centre, N.Y. • South Side High School
Before Loyola: Graduated from South Side High School in Rockville Centre, New York, where he was a four-year varsity member of the football and lacrosse teams… Had 103 points in his high school career with 57 as a senior in 2022… Totaled 36 goals nad had 21 assists in 2022 after posting 19 and eight in 2021… Earned All-Nassau County honors in 2021 and 2022 and All-Long Island Second Team in 2022… Member of the All-State team as a senior and was an honorable mention All-American… Team captain in 2021 and 2022… Led South Side to three appearances in the Nassau County semifinals… Named the 2022 team Most Valuable Player and the South Side Booster Club Branch Memorial Most Valuable Player… Also received the James C.
