ATHENS, Ohio –
Lauren Link posted a double-double with 15 kills and 18 on Saturday as Loyola University Maryland volleyball lost a four-set match to Ohio University, 25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, to close out the Bobcat Invitational.
Loyola (2-5 overall) built a 21-17 lead in the third set on a
Megan Bukala kill and then after the Bobcats got back within two, the Greyhounds took advantage of an attack error and bad set by Ohio to regain its four-point lead.
The Bobcats sided out with a kill, and then they drew within a point, 24-23, on a Greyhounds attacking miscue, but Link put the set away with a kill to extend the match.
Loyola had 15 kils int he fourth set, but they were hampered by 12 attack errors, and the Bobcats closed out the match.
Cecylia Guye added nine kills,a nd Bukala had eight for Loyola.
Ashley Dwyer led Loyola with 22 assists, and Bukala had 12 digs.
The match was Loyola's final non-conference tilt of the season as it will open its Patriot League schedule on Friday, September 16, at Colgate University.
