TORONTO – Loyola University Maryland graduate student
Cam Wyers was selected in the first round of the 2022 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft on Saturday.
Wyers, who will play for the Greyhounds during the 2023 season, was the 13
th overall selection in the draft by the Buffalo Bandits.
A two-time All-American defender for the Greyhounds, Wyers began his graduate studies at Loyola this month after completing his bachelor's degree as a mechanical engineering major.
Wyers garnered his second USILA All-America recognition last year after also earning third-team laurels in 2021. Last year, he finished with 16 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls on the defensive unit for the Greyhounds.
The senior from Ottawa, Ontario, has 57 caused turnovers and 126 ground balls during his time with the Greyhounds. His 57 caused turnovers rank eighth on the Loyola career records chart.
