Women's Soccer Outshoots No. 24 Demon Deacons En Route to 0-0 Tie

Baltimore, MD -- The Loyola Greyhounds women's soccer team hosted No. 24 Wake Forest on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and after a back-and -forth game, the Greyhounds and Demon Deacons battled to a 0-0 tie.

This result was the Greyhounds first win or tie against an ranked opponent since September 7, 2007, when they won 2-1 over then No. 24 Wake Forest.

Both teams had their fair share of opportunities in the first half, as each had three shots; Wake Forest had the lone two shots on goal, but Paige Sim saved both attempts for Loyola.

In the second half, both offenses had more opportunities, as Loyola outshot Wake Forest, 6-5. Baylee DeSmit had a pair of shots on goal that were saved, and Lea Kristjansdottir had a good shot on goal, as well. But, both goalies proved to be on their A-game as both goalies tallied four saves.

The Greyhounds improve to 3-3-2, while the Demon Deacons move to 6-0-2.

The Greyhounds will begin conference play next Saturday as they travel to face Colgate.
