Men's Soccer Can't Overcome Two-Goal First Half Deficit

Princeton, NJ -- The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team traveled to face the Princeton Tigers on Tuesday night. The Tigers scored two goals in the first 10 minutes, as the Greyhounds could not battle back as they lost 2-0.

The Tigers got the scoring started early in the 6th minute as the scored on a cross into the box that took a deflection from a Princeton player to get passed the Greyhounds goalie. The Tigers would score again in the 10th minute, after a corner kick into the box was deflected to a waiting Tigers player at the top of the box, and he put it in the top right corner to make it a 2-0 game.

The Tigers were the aggressors in the first half, as they out-shot the Greyhounds 9-6 in the first half. The Greyhounds did draw 12 fouls in the first half, compared to committing just 2 fouls in the half.

The Tigers once again out-shot the Greyhounds in the second half 10-7. Konstantinos Parisis did his best to keep the Greyhounds in the game in the second half, as he tallied 4 saves in the second half. Despite this, the Greyhounds failed to find the back of the net, as they lost their second straight game.

The Greyhounds will be back in action this weekend as they will host Lehigh on Saturday September 24th for Alumni Day.
