Bethlehem, PA -- The Patriot League announced the Player of the Week honorees for this past week on Monday afternoon. The Loyola men's soccer team earned four of the five awards after a 2-0 week, including two shutouts.
Kelan Swales finished the week with five points (2 goals, 1 assist) in the Greyhounds two wins. Swales tallied 1 goal and 1 assist in the win against Delaware. He followed that up with a game-winning goal in the Greyhounds 1-0 win over Old Dominion.
Albert Kang also scored in the Greyhounds 3-0 win over Delaware. Kang was able to connect on a rebound off of a free-kick attempt from Swales to score.
Jordy Luchies anchored the Greyhounds defense this past week en route to two shutout victories. Luchies played all 180 minutes in both games, while also recording an assist on Swales' game-winner against Old Dominion.
Alex Bobocea recorded a pair of shutouts this past weekend against Delaware and Old Dominion. Bobocea did not allow a goal on a combined 14 shots of the weekend, and recorded his first shutout of his career.
The Greyhounds will be back in action on Friday as they will travel to face off against St. John's. The Greyhounds have also been receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.
