Cristina Garcia scored on a driving turnaround jumper to take a one point lead in the second quarter, but the Navy Midshipmen answered with an 16-5 run to end the first half,and went on to win 63-43 over the Greyhounds.
Lex Therien finished with a team-high 10 points and 7 rebounds, while teammate
Taleah Dixon added 9 points on the night.
Navy led by as many as 14 points in the thrid quarter, but the Greyhounds managed to cut their deficit down to nine points with 4:26 remaining in the frame. The Midshipmen responded with a three-pointer to retake a 12-point lead.
The Midshipmen maintained the momentum to begin the fourth, but
Devyne Newman knocked down a three-pointer with 6:23 left in the period. The Greyhounds attempted to get back into the game, but could not cut into the Midshipmen lead.
The Greyhounds will look to bounce back on the road next Wednesday, as they travel to face Lehigh on January 18.
