Bri Rozzi scored two of her eight points with a pull-up jumper to cut the Loyola Maryland deficit to six points with 5:14 left in the third quarter, but Boston University responded with a 9-0 run, as the Terriors went on to win 65-57 to stay unbeaten in Patriot League play.
Both teams were scoreless for the first 3:44 of the fourth quarter, as the Terriers finally scored with a free throw from Maren Durant.
Taleah Dixon responded with a jumper to cut the deficit to seven points, but the Greyhounds could not cut the deficit any lower, as the Terriers made just one shot in the fourth quarter. The Greyhouns out-shot the Terriers 17 shots to 6, but the Greyhounds shot just 23.5 % in the quarter. The Terriors secured the win from the foul line, as they went 10-14 from the foul line to close out the Greyhounds at home.
Lex Therien knocked down her second three-pointer of the season with 8:13 left in the third quarter, as she cut the deficit down to six points. Preseason Patriot League Player of the Year, Sydney Johnson, took over in the third quarter, as she accounted for 11 of her 21 points in the quarter.
Lex Therien finished with 21 points and 15 rebounds, for her second straight 20-point and 15-rebound game.
Koi Sims finished with a career-high 16 rebounds on the night, as Therien and Sims accounted for 31 of 32 live-ball rebounds for the Greyhounds.
The Terriers jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter at the 5:48 mark in the first quarter. The Greyhounds could not bounce back from the early start from the Terriers, despite the Greyhounds outscoring the Terriers in the second and third quarter and both teams scoring 13-points each in the fourth. The Terriers led from start to finish in the road win.
The Greyhounds will remain home next Wednesday, as the Greyhounds welcome Lafayette to Reitz at 7:00 PM.
