Taleah Dixon scored on a layup with 1:01 left in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit down to two points. After getting a stop on the ensuing possession, Dixon missed on a floater, as Lafayette sealed the game from the foul line, as they defeated Loyola Maryland 39-35.
Lex Therien made a free throw with 5:12 left in the fourth quarter to extend the Greyhounds lead to 30-27. The Leopards responded with an 9-0 run to take an 36-30 lead with 1:54 left in the fourth. A
Kelly Ratigan three-pointer cut the deficit to three points with 1:39 left in the quarter. After the Leopards made a free-throw,
Taleah Dixon scored on a layup to cut the deficit to two points.
Lex Therien had her third straight 15-rebound double-double, as she tallied 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Taleah Dixon also added 10 points on the night.
Makayla Andrews was the lone Leopard in double-figures, as she had a game-high 13 points on the night.
The Greyhounds led by as many as nine points twice in the third quarter, the latter from a
Devyne Newman jump shot to end the third quarter with an 29-20 lead.
The Greyhounds will be back on the road on Saturday, January 28, as the Greyhounds head to face Bucknell University at 2:00 PM.
