EASTON, Pa. –
Deon Perry used a shot fake to get his defender into the air before hitting a 3-pointer with 7:05 left in the first half, pulling Loyola University Maryland within one, 25-24, but Lafayette College would score the half's final 14 points en route to a 62-46 Patriot League victory on Wednesday night.
Perry finished with 12 points to match
Kenneth Jones for team-high honors.
Golden Dike scored the second half's first two points off a dish from
Alonso Faure, and Dike then assisted on a Perry three at 17:04 to pull Loyola back within 10, 39-29, but the Leopards would build a lead of 22 points later in the second half.
Three Lafayette players scored in double-figures: Leo O'Boyle (18), TJ Berger (17) and Josh Rivera (10).
Faure and
Veljko Ilic led Loyola with six rebounds each, and Ilic added six rebounds. Perry had three steals for the Greyhounds.
Loyola will be back in Baltimore on Saturday, January 28, to host Bucknell University at 1 p.m.
