Bethlehem -- The Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team held the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks to just four shots, with none of them coming on goal, as teams battled to a 0-0 draw in a Patriot League contest.
Thomas Gray had the Greyhounds (4-1-8 overall, 4-0-2 Patriot League) first quality chance, as his shot was saved in the 12th minute of the game.
Both teams struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end, as neither team recorded another shot until the 40th minute, where the Greyhounds shot was just wide right.
The Mountain Hawks (2-7-5 overall, 1-3-2 Patriot League) had a shot early in the second half, that went wide of the Greyhounds goal. The Greyhounds defense held strong the remainder of the game, as the Mountain Hawks tallied just two more shots.
In the 81st minute,
Giovanni Marquina had a quality look at goal, but was saved by the Mountain Hawks. In a last chance to pull ahead, a
Jeremiah Zuniga shot in the 87th minute was also saved, as the Greyhounds and Mountain Hawks battled to a 0-0 draw.
The Greyhounds will conclude non-conference play on Tuesday, as they travel to face St. Joseph's at 6:00 PM.
