Taleah Dixon scored on a driving layup with 2:04 left in the fourth quarter to give the Greyhounds their first lead of the game. Lehigh responded with a 14-5 run over the last two minutes of the game, as the Mountain Hawks defeated the Greyhounds 67-59 on Saturday evening.
Taleah Dixon started the fourth quarter strong for the Greyhounds, as she had a team-high nine points in the first eight minutes of the quarter. The Greyhounds found success from beyond the three-point line, as they shot 3-4 from three-point range. After the Greyhounds took a 54-53 lead, Frannie Hottinger responded quickly with a layup to retake the lead for the Mountain Hawks.
Hottinger scored seven points over the last 2:04 of the game, as the Mountain Hawks shot 7-11 from the foul line to ice the game. The Greyhounds struggled over the last two minutes, as
Lex Therien scored their only basket, with :39.3 seconds left.
Lex Therien recorded her second straight 20 point and 10 rebound game, her fifth of the season.
Taleah Dixon scored all of her 14 points in the second half, as a free throw with 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter, gave Dixon 1,000 points in her career, which makes her the 23rd Greyhound to reach that mark.
Frannie Hottinger had a game-high 28 points for the Mountain Hawks.
After trailing by 20 points early in the second quarter, the Greyhounds defense stepped up, as the Greyhounds went on an 18-5 run from the 5:40 mark in the second quarter, to the 6:16 mark in the third quarter. During the run, the Greyhounds held the Mountain Hawks to just 1-11 shooting.
Lex Therien outscored the Mountain Hawks herself over the run, as Therien had 11 of the 18 points on the run.
Kelly Ratigan capped of the run with a pair of free throws, as the Greyhounds trailed 34-29 with 6:16 left in the third quarter. Teams traded baskets to end the quarter, as the Greyhounds trailed by five entering the fourth quarter.
The Mountain Hawks started the game strong on the offensive end, as they made three three-pointers in the opening quarter and shot 58.3 % from the field in the quarter.
The Greyhounds will travel to face Lafayette on Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
