Over the next seven minutes of game time, the Navy Midshipmen went on an 22-3 run to pull ahead to an 60-41 lead. Golden Dike had 11 points and 9 rebounds on Saturday evening for the Greyhounds.Â
After trailing by 19 points with 3:44 left in the second half, the Greyhounds managed to chip into the Midshipmen lead, as they trailed 60-51 with 1:31 left. The Midshipmen went 5-6 from the foul line over the last minute and a half to ice the game and secure the win.Â
Daniel Deaver led the Midshipmen with 19 points, while Christia Jones and Tyler Nelson added 13 points on the evening.Â
Kenneth Jones knocked down his second three-pointer of the game with 11:37 left in the first half to take an 13-8 lead. Navy managed to battle back and retake the lead, before
Deon Perry hit a three-pointer with 6:09 left in the first to retake the lead.
Tyson Commander scored on a fast-break layup with :22 seconds left in the half to cut the deficit to two points, but the Midshipmen scored at the buzzer as they took a 28-24 lead at halftime.Â
The Greyhounds will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Holy Cross in Reitz Arena at 7:00 PM.Â
