Lex Therien tallied her 13th double-double of the season, while
Taleah Dixon added 18 points on Wednesday night, as women's basketball hosted Army West Point. The Black Knights went on an 13-4 run to close out the game, as the Black Knights won on the road 83-68.
Meliah Van-Otoo knocked down the step-back three-pointer with 6:32 left in the fourth quarter, as the Greyhounds trailed 66-60. Coming out of an timeout, Trinity Hardy knocked down a three-pointer for the Black Knights.
Lex Therien followed it up with a layup on the ensuing possession, but the Greyhounds would fail score a basket over the next five minutes of the game, as the Black Knights used an 13-4 run to seal the game.
Sabria Hunter started the fourth quarter with a layup to extend the Black Knights lead. The Greyhounds stormed back into the game, as an 11-0 run helped the Greyhounds cut their deficit down to just six points with 6:32 remaining in the fourth quarter. Therien was dominant to start the quarter, as she had six of the Greyhounds eleven points during the run.
After trailing by 22 points at halftime, the Greyhounds opened the second half on an 9-2 run to cut into their deficit. The Black Knights responded with an 9-3 run of their own late in the third quarter, as the Greyhounds trailed by 15 points heading into the fourth quarter.
Lex Therien had a team high 24 points and 11 rebounds on the night, for her 13th double-double of the season. It is also her fourth 20-point double-double of the season. Therien has grabbed double-digit rebounds in five of her last six games, averaging 12.3 rebounds per game over her last six.
Taleah Dixon added 18 points on the night, while
Meliah Van-Otoo scored a career-high 10 points.
Kelly Ratigan and
Devyne Newman added eight points each. Ratigan also added a career high 5 assists.
Sabria Hunter had a game-high 32 points and 14 rebounds for the Black Knights.
The Black Knights used an 28-point second quarter to pull away from the Greyhounds in the first half, as the Black Knights shot 61.1 percent from the floor and 62.5 percent from three-point range in the quarter.
The Greyhounds will be back at home on Saturday, as they will host Lehigh at 5:00 pm for Senior Day.
