Lex Therien had a game-high 23 points for women's basketball team on Wednesday night, as Loyola University Maryland hosted Colgate in the regular season finale. The Greyhounds trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter, but could not overcome the deficit as they fell 50-64.
After starting the fourth quarter leading by seven, the Raiders started the fourth quarter strong, as they went on a 15-3 run over the first 5:11 of the quarter to take an 60-41 lead.
Kelly Ratigan ended the run with a three-pointer with 4:32 left in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit down to 16 points. The Greyhounds held the Raiders to just four points over the last four minutes of game time, but could not capitalize, as
Meliah Van-Otoo hit a free throw with :15 seconds left.

Devyne Newman had nine points in the game, while
Taleah Dixon had eight points.
Devyne Newman knocked down a three-pointer off of an assist from
Taleah Dixon with 6:44 left in the third quarter to cut their deficit to 32-30. Taylor Golembiewski responded with a jump shot for the Raiders on the next possession. The Greyhounds and Raiders traded baskets down the stretch, before the Raiders went on a 5-2 run to pull ahead.
Lex Therien scored on a layup as the clock expired, as they trailed 45-38 heading into the fourth quarter.
Devyne Newman knocked down a jump shot off of an assist from
Taleah Dixon with 5:50 left in the second quarter as the Greyhounds took an 20-18 lead in the second quarter.
The Greyhounds will face Lafayette in the first round of the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, as the Greyhounds and Leopards will face off at 4:00 PM.
