BALTIMORE –
Adam Poitras' quick-stick goal off a David Lindsey feed with 8:50 to go in the first quarter to tie the game at 2-2, but Georgetown University scored the next seven goals and 14 of the next 15 en route to a 16-3 non-conference victory over Loyola University Maryland.
The final goal of the 14-1 run came 39 seconds into the third quarter, but
Evan James scored his second goal of the game for Loyola at 12:43 to start a 3-0 run for Loyola.
Matthew Minicus scored on extra man with a shot from right point at 5:47 to make it 16-6, but that was as close as the Greyhounds would get.
James finished with two goals, while Minicus had two goals and an assist.
Chris Cottone won 7 of 13 faceoffs for the Greyhounds.
Loyola will be back on the field Saturday, April 20, for a 12 noon contest against Colgate University.
