BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland midfielder
Jillian Wilson set school and conference season and career records during the 2023 campaign, earning First-Team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), and on Wednesday she capped her career by being named the IWLCA Midfielder of the Year.

It's awesome to see her name deservedly amongst the high caliber of Players of the Year for 2023."
As a team captain, Wilson led the Greyhounds to their second-straight trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals and a 19-3 record. Loyola's 19 wins rank second in school history behind last year's 20, and the 39 combined wins between the two seasons are most since the program's inception for a two-year period.
Wilson became the Patriot League single-season record holder in draw controls, finishing with 198. Her total set a new Loyola standard, led all of NCAA Division I and ranks seventh in NCAA single-season history.
She wrapped up her career with a school record 449 draw controls, setting a school record and finish second all-time in the Patriot League and 14
th in NCAA Division I history.
Wilson, who is the first player in school history to earn an IWLCA Positional Player of the Year Award, was not just a leader in draw controls for the Greyhounds.
The graduate student from Hampstead, Maryland, led the team and Patriot League with 61 goals scored, and she was tops on the squad with 22 caused turnovers. Wilson was one of three players – joining
Georgia Latch and
Sydni Black – who scored 80 or more points during the 2023 season, and she finished third with an even 80.
Wilson completed her four years at Loyola seventh in school history in goals scored (181) and 10
th in points (240).
In addition to the IWLCA Midfielder of the Year honor, Wilson was a unanimous First-Team All-American, earning the recognition from the IWLCA,
Inside Lacrosse and
USA Lacrosse Magazine. She was tabbed the Patriot League Midfielder of the Year for the second-straight season, and she was a semifinalist for the Tewaaraton Award.
Wilson earned All-Patriot League First Team honors for the third-straight season, and her combination of athletic and academic feats helped her draw Academic All-Patriot League laurels. She was the sixth overall pick in the Athletes Unlimited Professional Draft earlier this month.
