Wilson and Detwiler Drafted by Athletes Unlimited

Baltimore, Md. -- Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse All-American's Katie Detwiler and Jillian Wilson have been drafted by Athletes Unlimited in their 2023 Lacrosse College Draft, as Detwiler was the second pick, and Wilson was the sixth pick in this years draft. 

Detwiler, an defender from Devon, PA., and Wilson, a midfielder from Hampstead, Md., were two of 11 college players invited to join the third Lacrosse season, which will be played from July 20 to August 13 at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Baltimore, Md. All games will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and tickets for the season are on sale now (https://auprosports.com/tickets/lacrosse/).

Detwiler is one of nine Greyhounds to earn four all-conference honors throughout their career. She earned a Patriot League record 14 Defender of the Week awards throughout her career, while also being named the Patriot League Defender of the Year for three-straight seasons. A two-time Tweaaraton Award Top-25 Semifinalist and three-time ILWomen All-American, Detwiler has started all 82 games of career, starting in every game during her career. She tallied five goals and an assist, while also tallying 189 draw controls, which is good for fifth all-time in program history. 

Wilson set the new career draw control mark for Loyola during her final season with the Greyhounds, while also breaking the single-season draw control mark for Loyola and the Patriot League. Heading into the NCAA Championships, Wilson has scored 175 goals and tallied 56 assists for 231 points in her career. She ranks ninth in program history with 175 goals, and broke Livy Rosenzweig's record for draw controls, as Wilson has 431 draw controls, which ranks second in Patriot League history. A two-time Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, received All-America nods twice in her career, while also being named as an Tewaaraton Top-25 Semifinalist. Wilson will go down as one of the most decorated midfielders in program history. 

Wilson scored in 71 of her 82 career games for the Greyhounds, including scoring in her last 38 games. She scored 32 hat-tricks in her career, while tallying multiple assist games 11 times. She had double-digit draw controls 12-times during her career, with nine of them coming during the 2023 season. 

Detwiler and Wilson led the Greyhounds to four Patriot League Championships and 32-straight regular-season conference victories, helping Loyola break the NCAA record for consecutive conference games won. Throughout their careers, Detwiler and Wilson helped Loyola to an overall record of 70-12, a school record 20 wins in 2022, four-straight NCAA tournament appearances, and four-straight Patriot League Regular Season Championships.

In being drafted, Detwiler and Wilson will join former Greyhound Kady Glynn for Season 3 of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse. Former Greyhounds Katrina Geiger, Taylor VanThof and Molly Wolf played during Season 2 of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse. Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse plays a short-form, fast-paced format consisting of eight-minute quarters, 10-v-10 game play and a 60-second shot clock. The top-four players become captains each week and draft their teams from scratch for the following week's games. Athletes score points as individuals and as a team to win MVP titles and cash bonuses. Glynn, a goalkeeper, finished the inaugural season ranked fourth on the leaderboard with 1601 total points.
