NEW YORK – Columbia University scored three times in the span of three minutes Sunday evening to get past visiting Loyola University Maryland in a non-conference women's soccer match.
The Greyhounds (2-2 overall) had a promising start to the game with two early shots, including a
Baylee DeSmit attempt that was saved the Lions' Paige Nurkin.
Both teams went back in forth until the Lions (2-0 overall) scored their first goal of the game at the 20:14 mark. They didn't wait long to build the lead, adding a second goal 37 seconds later and a third at 22:49
The Greyhounds did not find any sort of momentum in the second half, as they were out-shot 6-2.
Malia Tarazon led the team with two shots, and
Brigid Mulholland had her first career save.
The Greyhounds will return to Ridley Athletic Complex on Thursday, when they host Manhattan at 6:00 PM.
