DURHAM, N.C. – Loyola University Maryland moved up a spot in the team standings on the final day of the Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke University Golf Club, finishing 11
th at the 54-hole event.
James Rico had the best score of the day for the Greyhounds for the second time in three rounds at the tournament, carding a 1-over 73 to finish in a tie for 21
st at 4-over.
Rico posted 37 pars over 54 holes, tying for third-most among the individuals competing.
Jackson Roman had his best round of the tournament – buoyed by three-straight birdies on the 12
th through 14
th holes – finishing at even-par 72. He matched
Mike Crowley for a tie for 51
st overall at 12-over.
Gustavo Rangel recorded three birdies amongst his seven holes to get to 3-over on Monday for his best round of the tournament. He tied for 58
th along with
Connor McGarrity.
The Greyhounds will head to the eastern tip of Long Island at the Maidstone Club next week to host the Hamptons Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, October 2-3.
