EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. – Loyola University Maryland golf wrapped up the fifth edition of the Hamptons Intercollegiate on Tuesday, taking seventh out of a 12-team field at Maidstone Club near the tip of Long Island.
Michael Crowley led the Greyhounds by tying for 21
st place with a three-round score of 4-over 220.
The host Greyhounds culminated the tournament with a round of 12-over 300 to finish a shot back of Princeton and four back of fourth-place Arkansas. Loyola shot 24-over 888 Monday and Tuesday.
Ole Miss won the tournament at 26-under, a full 20 shots better than Florida State's second-place 6-under 858. Virginia was third a shot back of the 2024 NCAA Runner-Up Seminoles, and Wake Forest finished fourth at 1-under par.
Crowley came in with a 4-over 76 on Tuesday and tied for 21
st behind 18 players from Ole Miss, Florida State, Virginia, Wake Forest and one each from Harvard and Princeton.
Jackson Roman and
Connor McGarrity tied for 29
th at 8-over par, and
Gustavo Rangel was one shot back at 9-over. Roman led Loyola with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, while McGarrity shot 3-over for the second time in three rounds, sandwiching a 2-over 74 on Monday afternoon.
Eli Spaulding was 13-over and tied for 44
th place after carding a 3-over 75 on Tuesday, while
Lorenzo Sanz played as an individual and tied for 57
th at 23-over.
The Greyhounds will be back in action next week when they play in the Georgetown Intercollegiate Monday-Tuesday, October 14-15, at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, New Jersey.
