Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced on Monday afternoon the men's soccer Academic All-League team, as Loyola University Maryland's Jordy Luchies as named the 2024 Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year. 

This is the second straight year Luchies has been named to the All-Academic Team, as the senior holds a 3.8 GPA in Finance and Business Economics. Luchies becomes the third Greyhound to earn the honor, joining Gabriel Carlsson (2018) and Albert Kang (2022). 

He has made the deans list in each semester during his time at Loyola. He has worked as a financial analyst intern, where he analyzed economic and real estate market data to assist in operating budgets and financial models. Luchies is also a member of the Green and Grey Society, where he is one of fourteen students to serve on the president's student advisory board. 

On the field, Luchies was an anchor for the Greyhounds back line, as he started in 57 of 59 games in his career, including starting all 17 games this season. Luchies has had a decorated career, earning three All-League Team awards, as well as being named to the Patriot League All-League Team his freshman year when Loyola won the Patriot League Championship. 
Luchies capped off his Loyola career with one goal and two assists on the season and was third on the team in minutes played with 1,325.
