Baltimore -- USA Lacrosse announced the members of Team USA for the upcoming IWLCA Presidents Cup, as
Chase Boyle,
Sydni Black ('24), and
Katie Detwiler ('23) have been named to the team.
The Presidents Cup will take place from November 22 through the 24th in Florida. The U.S. will hold a Blue-White exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The U.S. women will then scrimmage Boston College the following day (Nov. 24) in a pair of games beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Boyle is coming off of a historical season for the Greyhounds in 2024, where she set the Loyola single-season goals (85) and draw controls (208), while also being a Tewaaraton Finalist, a Honda Sport Award Finalist, IWLCA Midfielder of the Year, and First Team All-American. Boyle will be one of ten current college athletes that will be on Team USA for the upcoming Presidents Cup.
Black finished our her career this past spring for the Greyhounds with a bang, as she finished with the ninth most goals (178) and points (248) in program history. Following her career with the Greyhounds, Black played for Athletes Unlimited over the summer, where she was the fifth overall pick in the College Draft, as she tied for 13th in goals during her first season.
Detwiler graduated from Loyola in 2023 after helping lead Loyola to the NCAA Quarterfinals and being named First Team All-American. Detwiler was then drafted second overall in the Athletes Unlimited College Draft, where she has played the last two seasons, and was named to teh All-Defensive team in 2024. Detwiler currently is a assistant coach for the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosset team.
Boyle, Black and Detwiler look to follow in the shoes of Livy Rosenzweig and Taylor Van Thof, who were both members of the 2024 USA Box Team that won gold in the inaugural World Box Championships.
