WASHINGTON, D.C. – Loyola University Maryland graduate student
Adam Poitras was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Wednesday night, the Foundation announced during the postgame show for the Premier Lacrosse League Championships Series.
Poitras earned All-Patriot League First Team honors as a midfielder last year and was then an Honorable Mention All-American by
Inside Lacrosse and
USA Lacrosse Magazine. The native of Whitby, Ontario, also earned Academic All-Patriot League and USILA Scholar All-America recognition laurels following the 2023 season.
Last season, Poitras led Loyola with 34 goals and tied for the team-lead with 49 points. Including two games this season, in which he has four goals and an assist, Poitras has 83 career goals and 126 points.
He was the No. 2 overall pick in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft last summer by the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. Poitras also was the Most Valuable Player of the 2022 Minto and Mann Cups for the Whitby Warriors.
Poitras graduated from Loyola in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and he is currently pursuing his M.B.A.
