Baltimore -- The Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team announced its 2024 schedule on Thursday, a slate that includes seven home matches at Ridley Athletic Complex.
The Greyhounds begin their campaign on August 22 in Newark, New Jersey, where they will face NJIT, a rematch from last season, where teams tied 1-1. They follow it up with their home opener, on Thursday, August 29, when they welcome Iona to Ridley Athletic Complex. They follow it up with a road matchup against Marshall, who won the 2020 National Championship, on September 2.
Saint Joseph's comes to Ridley Athletic Complex on September 6, in another rematch from last season, where the Greyhounds won 1-0. Loyola will visit reigning National Champion Clemson on September 10 in Clemson.
The Greyhounds open Patriot League play on September 14, where they travel down to square off against American. Loyola returns to Ridley for a pair of home matches, where they will host Boston on September 21, before hosting non-conference foe Hofstra, on September 24.
Loyola then begins a three-game road trip with a road matchup against Holy Cross on September 28, before traveling down to Annapolis to square off against Navy on October 5. They wrap up their road-trip on October 8 with a matchup against St. John's.
Colgate comes to Ridley on October 12 for another Patriot League matchup. The Greyhounds close out non-conference play on October 15, when they travel to play 2022 National Champion, Syracuse.
Down the stretch, the Greyhounds will host Lehigh on October 19, before back-to-broad games against Lafayette (October 26) and Army (November 1). They wrap up the regular season against Bucknell at Ridley on November 5.
The Patriot League Championships begins on November 9 for the quarterfinal round, which features the three, four, five, and six sees at the higher seeded teams. Winners on those matches will move on to play in the semifinals on November 12 at the top two seeds, and the championship match will be held on November 11 at the highest seed.
