Worcester -- The College of the Holy Cross opened up the game on a 16-4 run at the end of the first quarter, as they held on for a wire-to-wire win over the visiting Loyola University Maryland women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon.

Amandine Amorich finished with a team-high six points on Saturday, while Sims added 10 rebounds on the afternoon.Â
The Crusaders (14-5 overall, 7-1 Patriot League) started fast on the offensive end, as they opened up to a 8-0 lead four minutes into the fourth quarter.Â
Amandine Amorich got the Greyhounds (7-12 overall, 1-7 Patriot League) on the board with a driving layup with 2:47 remaining in the first quarter. Holy Cross continued their strong opening quarter, as they led 16-4.Â
Holy Cross continued their momentum through the second quarter, as their stiffling defense held the Greyhounds to a season-low 8 points at the half, as they led 30-8 at half.Â
Kailey Kalet opened the second half with a three-point play, as Loyola cut their deficit down to 19 points. Loyola continued to struggle on the offensive end, as they could not cut into the Holy Cross lead, as the Crusaders held on to win 53-27.Â
Meg Cahalan had a game-high 17 points for Holy Cross, while Kendall Eddy finished with 11 points.Â
The Greyhounds return to Baltimore on Wednesday, as they will host Bucknell at 7:00 PM.Â
