BALTIMORE – Colgate University scored twice in the first half and added a third goal in the second half to take a 3-0 decision over Loyola University Maryland on Saturday afternoon in Patriot League action.
The loss was the Greyhounds' first of the Patriot League season and snapped a seven-match unbeaten streak.
Ari Bezanson scored the opener in the eighth minute, possessing a ball off a deflected clear on the top right of the box before driving a shot into the right side of the net.
Anna Keeling then added a second goal in the 26
th minute, hitting a shot off the left post, then the right before it went into the net for a goal assisted by Bezanson and Ana Schremp.
Josie Tunney scored the Raiders' third of the day in the 71
st minute.
Colgate (8-4-4 overall, 5-1-1 Patriot League) had 13 shots to the Greyhounds' five.
Loyola (5-3-7, 2-1-4) will be back on the pitch Friday, October 24, for a 6 p.m. match at Army West Point.
