Elisa Faklaris led the Greyhounds with four goals on Saturday afternoon, as Loyola University Maryland remained undefeated in Patriot League play as they downed visiting Lehigh, 18-4.
Faklaris finished with four goals, while
Emma Talago had three goals and two assists.
Chase Boyle and three goals, while
Ava Kane and
Caroline Gerosa each had two goals.
Georgia Latch finished with four assists in the win.
The Mountain Hawks (3-7 overall, 0-4 Patriot League) scored the opening goal of the game, as Angelina Pino scored on a assist from Molly Snow.
Loyola answered quickly, as they won the following draw, before Latch found Faklaris for her first goal of the day. Loyola would score another two goals over the next 48 seconds, as Boyle and Faklaris each scored, unassisted, to jump out to a 3-1 lead.
The Greyhounds (8-5 overall, 5-0 Patriot League) continued their momentum, as they carried their run into the second quarter, as they used a 7-0 run to jump out to a 7-1 lead. During the run, Faklaris and Boyle each had three goals, as
Emma Talago had the other goal.
Lehigh stopped the Greyhounds run, but Loyola would score another goal before halftime, as
Anna Kaplan found
Ava Kane for the goal, as the Greyhounds led 8-2 at halftime.
Coming out of halftime, Loyola won the opening draw, before
Mim Suares-Jury raced down and scored just 18 seconds into the quarter.
The Greyhounds and Mountain Hawks traded a pair of goals each, but
Morgan Quade and
Emma Talago both scored right before the end of the quarter, as Loyola led 13-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
Loyola's momentum continued in the fourth, as they outscored Lehigh 5-0.
Caroline Gerosa scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Aussies (Latch and Suares-Jury).
Lauren Lam scored her first goal as a Greyhound late in the fourth quarter, as
Lauren Perfetto capped off a big win with a behind-the-back goal to cap off the 18-4 win.
The Greyhounds dominated the draw circle, as they won 25 of 26 draw controls on the day, as they were led by
Chase Boyle who had 10 draws on the day. Latch had 8 draws, while
Lily Osborne had 7 draws in the win.
Lauren Spence finished with seven saves, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers, while
Kennedy Buntrock finished with two saves in seven minutes of work.
Loyola continues Patriot League play next Saturday when they host Lafayette on Saturday.
