BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Jackson Roman parlayed his strong final round at Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Memorial into a top 25 finish at the prominent event, and he was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
 
Roman put together 14-straight pars to close his final round as gusty winds hampered scores on the leaderboard.
 
The field included eight of the nation's top 130 players, as well as the world's No. 1 and 3 ranked amateurs, but only three were under par on Tuesday and 10 had scores of 1-over or better.
 
Roman steady round moved him up 16 spots during the final round and into a tie for 25^th. He started the 54-hole tournament with a 1-over 72 on Monday morning and then shot 2-over 73 during the first day's afternoon 18.
 
The award is the second this season for Roman after he was honored following his eighth-place finish at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate last month.
 
Loyola players have been named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the week after six of their nine tournaments this year.
