BALTIMORE – The U.S. Naval Academy women's tennis team defeated Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team, 7-0, on Wednesday in a Patriot League match at the McClure Tennis Center.
Navy did not lose a point in doubles play, winning all three by 6-0 scores.
Emily Tannenbaum and Olivia Ferno defeated
Lauren Manwiller and
Emma Roeck at No. 1, and Emma Gu and Manci were winners against
Jessica Bodewes and
Christine Richiez at No. 2. Kate Lee and Julie Lee earned a victory over
Emi Shivkumar and
Jocelyn Assael at No. 2.
In singles play, Tannenbaum beat Richiez, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1, and Grace Li was a 6-3, 6-1 winner against Manwiller at No. 2.
Parvathi Shanker got past
Elena Hartley, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 3, and Molly Bellia was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against
Mia Matriccino at No. 4.
Gu defeated Bodewes, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5, and Kate Lee won, 6-1, 6-0, against Shivkumar.
