Baltimore, Md. – Syracuse University scored in the 11th minute on Sunday afternoon to take the early 1-0 lead, but the Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team controlled much of the second half, but could not find the back of the net, as they fell to the visiting Orange, 1-0.
The Orange's (1-1 overall) goal came off of a corner kick, as Tim Brdaric scored on a jumping header to take the early lead.
Syracuse held the momentum throughout the first half, as they outshot the Greyhounds (1-1 overall) 10-2.
It was a tale of two halves however on Sunday afternoon, as Loyola found some rhythm early in the second half on the offensive end, registering a pair of shots that went just high of goal within the first three minutes of the half.
Loyola continued their momentum throughout the second half, as they outshot Syracuse 9-3 in the second half.
The Greyhounds registered six shots over the final five minutes of game time, but could not find the equalizing goal, as Loyola fell to Syracuse, 1-0.
Connor O'Keefe recorded a career-best four saves in goal in his second career start.
Jahvar Stephenson led the team with two shots on the afternoon, while 10 different players recorded a shot in the game.
Loyola will be back in action on Friday evening, when they travel to face Penn at 7:00 PM.
