NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Loyola University Maryland volleyball swept The Citadel on Friday afternoon to move to 1-1 to start the season with a pair of matches at the Buc Dome Invitational.
Loyola 3, The Citadel 0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22)
- Riley Hamilton led the Greyhounds with nine kills and seven digs, while Ava Nepkin had six kills, four blocks and 13 digs.
- Morgan Crawford added seven kills and three blocks, while Ellie Joffe put together six kills and a pair of blocks.
- The Citadel took a 13-11 lead in the first set on a Sammie Sabra kill, but Loyola rallied to score the next five and led 16-13 on an Addie Huber service ace.
- After that point, Loyola trailed just one – in the first 15 points of the third set – for the remainder of the match.
- Elsie Afful put away five kills, while Huber had seven digs.
Charleston Southern 3, Loyola 0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-13)
- The host Buccaneers held the Greyhounds to -.070 hitting in the match.
