BOSTON – Boston University pulled away in the second half to defeat Loyola University Maryland, 78–69, on Saturday afternoon at Case Gymnasium.
The Terriers used a balanced scoring effort and a decisive run early in the half. Boston University took a 37–33 advantage into halftime before extending the margin after the break and then scored the first seven after halftime.
Jacob Theodosiou led Loyola with a game-high 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting with three 3-pointers, and added five rebounds.
Jordan Stiemke scored 15 points, while
Emmett Adair added nine points and five rebounds for the Greyhounds.
The Terriers were led by Ben Defty's 18 points and nine rebounds, while Chance Gladden finished with 15 points and seven assists and Sam Hughes added 14 points.
Michael McNair chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Terriers, scoring 12 of his points in the game's first eight minutes.
Loyola will stay on the road for their next game to play at Lafayette College on Wednesday, February 11.
