BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland's
Mason Cook was named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following the Greyhounds' win at Colgate to open Patriot League play.
The sophomore from Towson, Maryland, scored a career-best eight goals, including the game's last three, in a 13-11 victory. His eight goals are the most in a game by a Loyola player since Kevin Lindley had eight in a March 2019 win also against the Raiders.
Cook scored twice each in the first and second quarters, and he then tied the game at 10-10 with a goal one-minute, 56 seconds into the fourth quarter.
Colgate tallied the next goal and led 11-10, but Cook evened the game with a score at the 8:17 mark in the stanza. He added goals with 5:18 and 1:31 left in regulation to provide the final margin.
Cook has scored 18 goals this season, already one more than his total of 17 from his freshman campaign, and he leads the Patriot League with 4.50 goals per game through contest as of Sunday, March 1.
The Greyhounds will be back on the field Tuesday, March 3, when they open their 2026 home schedule with a 6 p.m. game against Towson University at Ridley Athletic Complex.
