BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland classmates
Luke Murphy and
Max Watkinson were named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for men's lacrosse on Wednesday, an honor recognizing their work in the classroom and on the field.
Watkinson earned the honor for the second year in a row to become the fifth Greyhounds player to be a multi-time Academic All-Patriot League honoree since Loyola joined the conference in 2014.
He has posted 10 or more saves in 27 of his 32 starts in goal for the Greyhounds over the last three seasons, and he enters the Patriot League Championships third in the conference in both save percentage (.528) and saves per game (12.86).
Murphy leads Greyhounds midfielders in goals scored (15) and earned All-Patriot League Second Team recognition earlier in the week. He also has posted five assists and now has 30 goals and 14 assists in his career at Loyola.
Watkinson and Murphy join the Greyhounds on Friday, May 1, when they open the Patriot League Championships with a 7:30 p.m. game against Colgate University from Blaik Field at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York.
